The “Plant Something” project is a nationwide program that encourages gardening to promote a sustainable environment, healthy exercise, and support for your local economy. The Maine Landscape and Nursery Association (MELNA) created the Plant Something Maine program in 2016, and since then there has been a substantial increase in sales and job growth within the green industry. Specifically, sales and job growth in Maine in the horticulture industry have outpaced national growth by nearly 3 times!
